Chiropractic Care
Did you know… Chiropractic was founded in 1895 by a Canadian named D.D. Palmer (local monument in Palmer Park, Port Perry, Ontario). Please see Dr. Schwartz’s article, “Father of Chiropractic, A Fellow Canadian”.
Chiropractic is a health care profession that deals with the relationship between the structure of the spine and the function of the nervous system and overall health of the human body.
The spinal column and individual vertebra surround and protect the brainstem, spinal cord, and nerves that makeup the nervous system.
Your Nervous System (brain and spinal cord) controls and coordinates every function in your body. For you to interpret what you are reading, for your heart to beat, lungs to breathe, and for a cut to heal on your leg, information must come from the brain and run over the spinal cord and nerves.
When your spine shifts out of its normal position or misaligns (Abnormal Spinal Alignment) significant pressure is placed on the brainstem, spinal cord, and nerves; not just causing pain, but causing organs to function poorly and develop disease.
Chiropractic care strongly emphasizes prevention. By helping you maintain a healthy spine and optimizing your body’s health, chiropractic help prevent health concerns from becoming more serious, painful, or debilitating. Early detection of spinal problems helps ensure a healthy functioning nervous system.
Chiropractic care does not include medications or prescription drugs. Chiropractic care attempts to maximize the body’s healing potential by focusing on addressing the cause of the pain, as opposed to addressing the pain itself.

Why Chiropractic
Chiropractic stands as the leading form of Alternative Health Care in the world and has often been successful when medical treatment has failed. Chiropractors maintain the lowest malpractice insurance rates of any primary health professionals in the world which is a tremendous credit to the safety record throughout the entire profession.
Chiropractors are required to attend undergraduate college or university for a minimum of 2-4 years prior to attending chiropractic college. After completing an undergraduate program, chiropractic college is an additional 4 years of education. Therefore, the chiropractor of today has at least 6-8 years of college/university education.
In recent years, numerous scientific studies have been conducted throughout the world to determine and record specifically the effectiveness of chiropractic care. CBP® is the most researched and scientifically proven therapy in the chiropractic profession.
